Frequently Asked Questions
WHO DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR SERVICES TO?
We offer a variety of services that are tailored to individuals, teams, and clubs. We work with active individuals of all ages and abilities – ranging from youth to professional and recreational athletes. We want to help you get back to doing what you love best.
DO YOU DIRECT BILL TO MY INSURANCE PROVIDER?
Yes, we have the ability to direct bill most of the major insurance providers including Greenshield, Manulife, Sunlife, Canada Life, Blue Cross plus many others.
Direct billing is also subject to your specific plan, so please double-check with your provider if they accept direct billing.
Insurance plans can cover a wide variety of treatments and services, so it’s a good idea to check your plan to see how much funding is available and which practitioners they will cover.
We can also provide an electronic invoice for billing purposes.
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL FOR ANY OF YOUR SERVICES?
No, we do not require a doctor’s referral for any of our services. However, some insurance plans occasionally require a doctor’s note so keep that in mind and double check what your plan covers.
how dO i know which SERVICE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
As a multidisciplinary Athletic Development and Rehabilitation team, we have a variety of health and fitness specialists available. Taking a quick look around our website will give you a better idea of which service is right for you, but if it is still unclear which service suits your individual needs, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?
Prior to your initial appointment, you will need to complete some paperwork. The forms will be emailed directly to you via our medical system Jane. If possible, please complete these at home prior to your appointment.
We recommend bringing some clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in. A t-shirt, shorts, and some athletic shoes are our general recommendations, but it will always depend on your goals for the session. If you are injured we recommend clothing that gives the therapist easy access to assess the injury.
We require Physiotherapy members under the age of 18 to attend their appointment with a parent/guardian.
HOW LONG IS A SESSION?
Expect to be on-site between 45 and 60 minutes. On your initial visit, we will gather an extensive history and build your individualized treatment/training plan off of that.
Extended appointment times result in our team spending more time educating our members and carefully monitoring their progress. This higher emphasis on 1-on-1 time ensures more effective results for all of our members.
what is your COVID-19 Response?
Our priority is keeping Elite members and staff healthy. We ask that all members (and parents/guardians where appropriate) adhere to the current Calgary Bylaw 26M2020 and wear a face covering when attending an appointment. Each member will receive a COVID screening checklist that you are required to fill out 3 hours before attending an appointment. If you are unsure at all whether to attend an appointment, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
